The
two basic ideas that we would like you to think about could be expressed as
“Design online – pick up in your neighbourhood” and “Your customers can
design their own framing jobs in your shop.”
No
matter where in the world the branches of your business are located – in the
US
,
Japan
,
Australia
or
Russia
– there are only 3 ways in which artists and photographers will order their
mounts if they want to come and pick them up at the shop.
- They
noted down the measurements for the mount on a piece of paper.
- They
drew a dimensioned sketch, which is probably most often the case.
- They
bring the original artwork with them and require help measuring it and
determining the size of the openings as well as their position.
Dealing
with these ordering methods is what takes the most time. Cutting the mount later
with a CMC is done very quickly.
Here
is our idea for you: offer your customers, for example, a 10 % rebate if they
enter the framing data themselves using a computer in your shop or from their
home.
Even
if your employees take 10 minutes familiarising a customer with the program,
this would still mean excellent business because once they are familiar with it,
customers can create many mounts without requiring extra counselling time. With
multi-opening mounts, you could even offer a 25 % rebate and it would still be
very advantageous for both you and your customers.
You
hardly ever sell multiple-opening mounts? This will change quickly once you
start offering them in an easy-to-use design environment, such as the
Online-Framing Studio.

Please
take a look at the multiple-opening mounts customers have ordered from PPWRD in
the last 30, 60 or 90 days. You’ll find some interesting and quite
entertaining designs.
